If you’re looking for a great icebreaker, heat things up with wine produced from grapes grown on the steep slopes of an active volcano. Mt. Etna is Europe’s largest active volcano and Alta Mora (tall & black) is produced from indigenous Nerello Mascalese grapes grown at high altitudes in its black volcanic soil. The wine is surprisingly light-bodied with vibrant acidity and reminiscent of Pinot Noir. Pleasant cherry, cranberry, herbal, and mineral flavors make for a lovely drinking experience.
