VERZELLA

A contrada that once abounded with prestigious villas and underground palmenti (wine-presses), is now home to the winery that houses the entire Alta Mora project. In perfect harmony with its natural surroundings, the winery ensures the integrity of the grapes and becomes a single entity with the vineyards; one and a half hectares of espalier-grown Carricante just over 500 m above sea level, where the freshness of the land promotes the full ripening of the grape without altering its aromas.

The Winery

In an area made unique by the transforming force of the lava flow of 1879, the winery is an environmentally-friendly, cutting edge project made by fusing local materials with cor-ten, which changes and varies in colour over time, just as the magma that from destroyer evolves and becomes fertile soil, in full harmony with nature.
